The main star of Beetlejuice is of course, Beetlejuice. He's a 600-year-old dead ghost who's from the Neitherworld. He lives in a 'roadhouse' with an aerobic skeleton named Jacques and a tapdancing spider named Ginger. In the past, Beetlejuice has not always been the most honest, loyal, or even kind-hearted ghost. He is always getting into trouble and dragging his friends into it with him! His favorite meal is anything having to do with beetles. His bestfriend is a 12-year-old live girl named Lydia from the Real World. She often helps him get out of trouble. But, they have alot of fun together probably more fun than they would if they had never met each other.

Lydia Deetz is the bestfriend of Beetlejuice. She lives in the Real World in a house in Peaceful Pines with her Dad and Step-Mom and cat, Percy. She is only 12-years-old at the beginning of the series but grows up to be 14 at the end. Lydia loves to take pictures, sew and draw. She is a true artist at heart. Although she is the bestfriend of Beetlejuice, Lydia is almost completely the opposite of him! She's very kind and patient to everyone she meets. She almost always dresses in black. Lydia was very lonely before she met Beetlejuice. She became alot happier when she met him even though he gets her into all sorts of trouble with him.
Why do Beetlejuice and Lydia make such great friends? Because they are equally the same as well as different. In the Neitherworld most of the people living there don't trust Beetlejuice and feel that he is nothing more than a con-artist. He's somewhat of an outcast in other words. :( Lydia may seem different to many people in the Real World. Despite her two friends from school Bertha and Prudence, Lydia doesn't have many friends either. She's constantly judged by her stepmother Delia but her father Charles loves her as much as he can and accepts her for who she is.
